Shivaji was born on 1630, 19th February as a son of Shahaji Bhosle, general commander of Bijapur Sultanate, and Jaigir, owner of Pune. Shivaji’s mother, Jijabai, taught him lessons about justice in his childhood. In Indian history, Shivaji is honored as a born leader of the Maratha region.

Shivaji Maharaj is worshiped as a brave commander of the Hindu navy in Maharashtra and India. In Indian history, he is considered a legend due to his ‘Swaraj’ - an inspirational concept to develop a prosperous kingdom.

In the Shivneri fortress, the nearby city of Pune, Shivaji belonged to a righteous family of warriors. The seventh ruler of Bijapur, Mohammed Adil Shah, sent Afzal Khan to end Shivaji. When Afzal Khan attacked Shivaji, he saved himself with his armor. Later Shivaji injured Afzal Khan with a concealed weapon(Nails of Tiger) and sent forces to Bijapur.

In 1657, while the Maratha army robbed the surrounding territories of Junar & Ahmednagar to execute their ‘Swarajya’ campaign, Aurangzeb sent Deccan governor - Shaista Khan to end Shivaji. But Shivaji conquered the battle against the large force by Shaista Khan and expelled the Deccan governor from Pune.
